Why we are selling bonds to the CBN - Mustapha Chike Obi, MD AMCON

Over the weekend, the Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON) announced the decision on comprehensive refinancing plans for its N5.7trillion bonds which includes a sale of N3.6tr bonds to the Central Bank of Nigeria. AMCON equally announces its disinvestment plans for Enterprise, Keystone and Mainstreet Banks. On Monday, he was on Channels TV to discuss on these issues and comment on why this action was always part of its plans and not motivated by the comments of IMF; given that no moral harzards existed in the Nigerian model as it were.
