Why State Governors Should Support Broadband Penetration In Nigeria - Shina Badaru
Nigeria's Broadband penetration which will play a key role in boosting its digital economy, can gain more traction and experience significant growth if State Governors support it with enabling laws and policies.
Mr Shina Badaru the Founder/Chairman of Technology Times disclosed this as a guest on the 57th edition of the WebTV "Economy and Politics" show anchored by Ottoabasi Abasiekong which discussed "Leveraging Digitization To Industrialize Nigeria".
According to him the broadband connectivity in the nation is currently at 39.5%, which requires concerted efforts by States and Local governments to provide the enabling environment, through the easing of right of away and addressing issues like multiple taxation for companies to invest in the infrastructure. He commended Governors John Kayode Fayemi(Ekiti), Mallam Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna) and Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq (Kwara) for leading efforts to incentivize investments in broadband penetration in the country.
