October, 2020 Violence: Cleaning Up Lagos

From a peaceful protest across Nigeria against the excesses and brutality of the police force, hoodlums hijacked the process and it led to wanton destruction of government properties and businesses.

Lagos Nigeria's economic capital was the epicenter of the protests and worst hit by the carnage with properties destroyed worth billions of naira.

The relaxation of a 3-day curfew following the destruction of properties by the Lagos State Government, led to a public-private initiative to clean up the entire city.

WebTV went round parts of the city and visited Bode Thomas, Surulere one of the areas affected to engage the Clean Up Lagos initiative volunteers and citizens on the work they have done and the way forward post-violence.
