On the proposed plan in the repositioning of the state-owned oil company the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC into a limited liability company, he called for a conscious step of liberalization through the capital market that will improve governance and transparency.
With the recent collaboration between the Nigeria Exchange Group, the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission and the Bureau of Public Enterprises, the scholar believes it provides the opportunity for tapping into capital market for the liberalization of state owned corporations and assets.
He lauded the announcement of a global partnership between the FMDQ Exchange and the Oxford Foundry, University of Oxford, United Kingdom which he believed will spur enterprise development in Nigeria.
On the recent webinar organized by the Securities and Exchange Commission on "Financing the Solid Minerals Through The Capital Market", he described the Mining sector as critical to diversifying Nigeria's revenue but harped on an enabling policy environmental, effective regulations and a public-partnership partnership leveraging the commodities market to finance the sector.
