New SEC DG, Lamido Yuguda Should Galvanize Primary Market Activities - Saheed Kiaribe
The New Securities and Exchange Commission Director-General Mr Lamido Yuguda should prioritize galvanizing primary activities in the Nigerian capital market ecosystem. Director of Research, Proshare Mr Saheed Kiaribe disclosed this as a guest on the WebTV "Market Review" Program anchored by Ottoabasi Abasiekong which discussed the "The May 2020 Nigerian Capital Market Service Report".
Mr Kiaribe giving a snapshot of the exchanges market sizes in the month of May, 2020 said the FMDQ Securities Exchange, led with 51% while the Nigeria stock exchange, NSE followed with 48% and the NASD OTC Exchange which represented 1% of the capital market. Co-Anchor Mr Boason Omofaye and CEO, Frontier African Reports, FAR lauded the report and agreed that the Securities and Exchange Commission should lead the NSE, FMDQ and NASD to strategic roadshows, deepening awareness of the market and opportunities for investors.
