Presidential Pronouncement on MDA Enforcing SOPs, Key for Nigeria's Seaports And Terminals - Soji Apampa
The current work of bringing efficiency, transparency and accountability in the operation of services at the Seaports and Terminals, will be more effective if there is a Presidential Pronouncement on the leading agency to drive the enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures, SOPs.
Mr Soji Apampa the CEO of the Convention on Business Integrity, CBI disclosed this as a guest on the "Economy and Politics" show which discussed the "NESG Statement on Nigerian Seaports and Terminals".
According to him clarity on the coordinating agency that will be responsible to ensuring that there is compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures at the Seaports and Terminals, will help in reducing corruption and improve the ease of doing business.
Apampa said the CBI in collaboration with the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network, MACN is planning to train about 300 officers across the key Ministries Department and Agencies, MDAs on compliance to the SOPs.
He acknowledged the fact that currently countries like Ukraine, India and Egypt are learning from Nigeria's Grievance Resolution Mechanism and SOPs at the Seaports and Terminals.
