Energy Sufficiency, Transport Infrastructure and Power Key To Diversifying Nigeria's Revenue - Adedayo Amzat
Energy Sufficiency, Transport Infrastructure & Power are critical areas that must witness significant investments, if Nigeria is to achieve structural diversification of its revenue base.
The Group Managing Director of Zedcrest Group Mr Adedayo Amzat asserted this as a guest on the WebTV "Market Review" program anchored by Ottoabasi Abasiekong which explored "2020 Nigerian Budget Deficit & Monetary Policy Tomorrow On WebTV".
Mr Amzat believed it was also time to widen the tax net in the country and formalize the informal sector in the economy, while Co-Anchor Mr Boason Omofaye CEO, Frontier Africa Reports called for the deepening of the fiscal space to cover luxury taxes and address illegal collections & exploitation, that has affected the revenue of the nation.
He advised investors and all Nigerians participating in the market to diversify their portfolio as the "Risk free investments" like treasury bills will no longer experience the boom associated with them, because of the new developments in the market and monetary policy steps of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
On the "Zimvest Economic Series" webinar scheduled for Saturday, June 20th, 2020 which will discuss "The Economic Landscape & Investor Preferences" Mr Adedayo Amzat said it was an avenue to provide an industry wide perspective on deepening the asset management space in the country, and provide insight into how the post pandemic will shape the investment and capital market activities in Nigeria.
