Economy and Politics: Why Data is Important for Nigeria's Productivity
This edition of the 'Economy and Politics' show features Dr. Yemi Kale the immediate past Statistician-General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as he speaks on "Data and Economic Development in Nigeria".
According to him, data remains a critical source for supporting policies that can address socio-economic challenges like poverty and unemployment in Nigeria.
He said economies across the globe require data to plan effectively for economic development, and part of the challenge in Nigeria is that policies have been designed without integrating data reports.
Kale noted that data also helps to reveal the structure of the economy and highlights areas that can attract investments either domestic or foreign.
