Economy and Politics: PIB - Understanding the Governance, Fiscal and Investment Implications for Nigeria
This edition of the "Economy and Politics" show features Mr. Taiwo Oyedele the Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader, PwC as he speaks on "PIB 2020 Bill: Governance, Fiscal and Investment Implications for Nigeria".
He noted that in over 2 decades there has been no major reform in the nation's oil and gas sector, while the industry has evolved with petrochemicals, gas and the shift to clean energy.
With the PIB 2020 bill, Nigeria according to him has an opportunity to reposition itself with a legislation that meets the realities of the 21st Century global petroleum industry.
He was of the view that the proposed bill passed by the Senate, will change the ownership structure of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, leading it to achieve efficiency in its operations as a state oil company.
