Monetary & Fiscal Policy Alignment Will Be Critical to Nigeria's Recovery from Recession - Prof. Segun Ajibola
An effective alignment of fiscal and monetary policies in Nigeria will go a long way in leading the economy from recession to the pathway of recovery and growth.
Professor Segun Ajibola, FCIB an economist and lecturer at Babcock University and former President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Nigeria made this point as a guest on the "Economy and Politics" show anchored by Ottoabasi Abasiekong.
According to him it was time for monetary policy authorities to address the disconnect with the real sector and inability to achieve price stability.
He tasked the fiscal policy authorities to rethink governance and explore ways of addressing the structural economic issues in the country, that will lead to stability.
The economist believed the Fiscal needs to act more to ease the pressures on the monetary policy side.
