#NES26: 7 Issues That Must be Addressed to Drive Inclusive Socio-Economic Growth in Nigeria - Laoye Jaiyeola
Investing in Healthcare, Addressing Humanitarian issues, Supporting Small Businesses, Scaling infrastructure, Deepening the triple helix in education(Government-Academia-Industry), Guaranteeing food security and Tackling the issues of insecurity are 7 key areas that the government should give top priority to improve the socio-economic space in Nigeria.
The CEO of Nigeria Economic Summit Group, NESG Mr. Laoye Jaiyeola made this point as a guest on the WebTV "Market Review" Program which discussed the #NES26 summit that focused on 'Building Partnership for Resilience' and other developing economic stories.
He highlighted the fact that NESG remains focused on evidence based policy analysis, research and advocacy on government policy and economic strategies, which was manifest in the recent 15-point statement on the Nigerian economy.
On the 71 page Proshare report titled "NESG Vs CBN: Beyond The Battleground - The Need for Facts, Perspective and Resolution" he described it as a robust, comprehensive and incisive analysis/research and assured that some of the key recommendations will be considered at the summit and the policy commission level.
The 26th Summit of the NESG is scheduled for October 26th and 27th, 2020 in a hybrid format (to be hosted in Abuja, Lagos and through Virtual platforms).
