The CBN Should Rethink and Reimagine Its Interventionist Approach to The Nigerian Economy - Adesola Borokinni
The Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN) should rethink and reimagine its intervention programmes and management of monetary policy as it explores broader engagement with economic stakeholders before issuing policy directives.
Mr. Adesola Borokinni, an Economist with Proshare expressed these views as a guest on the "Economy and Politics" programme of WebTV anchored by Ottoabasi Abasiekong.
Borokinni called for synergy and alignment in policy design and governance between the fiscal and monetary authorities. He noted that the collaborative policies would drive an effective approach to addressing the quadrilemma of employment, interest rate, inflation and exchange rate.
The conversation was based on a recent 71-page report published by Proshare titled "NESG Vs CBN: Beyond the Battleground - The Need for Facts, Perspective and Resolution".
