Insurance Industry, Key To Stabilizing Nigeria's Economy - Ekerete Ola Gam-Ikon
The Insurance Industry if integrated into the mainstream of Nigerian fiscal strategy, has the potential of stabilizing the economy post pandemic period. Mr Ekerete Ola Gam-Ikon a management consultant and insurance expert disclosed this as a guest for the second time on the 51st edition of the WebTV "Economy and Politics: program which explored "NAICOM Insurance Recapitalization Extension: Implications For Industry".
The Insurance Industry according to him paid about N300bn in taxes to the government in 2018, made claims payment of N300bn and received gross premiums of N400bn in 2019. He called on the National Insurance Commission, NAICOM led by Mr Sunday Thomas to also give priority to claims payment in the country, which will boost confidence in the industry.
