Islamic Finance Weekly: Celebrating 2 Years of Deepening the Knowledge of Non-Interest Finance in Nigeria
Islamic Finance which is also known as "Non-Interest Finance" or "Ethical Finance" has been misunderstood by millions of Nigerians and people across the globe.
Islamic Finance is an historic and long-established finance transaction system involving all forms of economic assets that complies with the Islamic law (Shariah) principles and guided by the Islamic economic principles.
The Islamic finance components are; Islamic banking, Islamic Capital Market, Takaful, Microfinance, Islamic indices, Ijarah, Mudarabah companies, and Islamic fintech.The objective is based on the concept of fair distribution of resources and social justice.
As part of the role of media in creating awareness and informing society, WebTV launched the Islamic Finance Weekly, the first-ever non-interest finance programme in Nigeria, on October 28th, 2019.
Since inception, the programme has featured key industry experts, provided real time news stories and articles, generated debates and interests in the Islamic finance industry.
