Islamic Finance: 78% of Public Ethical Funds in Nigeria are Shariah-Compliant
Sharia-Compliant assets have recorded a hockey stick rise in the Nigerian financial and capital market. The net asset value of Shariah-Compliant mutual funds in Nigeria has grown by 174% from December 2019 to August 2021.
This edition of the Islamic Finance Weekly anchored by Bukola Akinyele-Yisau features Mr. Chidi Uzo, Head, Investment, Strategy & Research, CitiTrust Asset Management Limited as he speaks on "The Dynamics of Portfolio Management in Non-Interest Finance".
According to him, 78% of Public Ethical Funds in Nigeria are Shariah-Compliant, while 22% are ethical. He shared his views on the importance of understanding one's risk appetite prior to making investment decisions, and the investment opportunities for Halal investors on both individual and institutional levels.
