SEC Financial Literacy Committee to Support Islamic Finance Education in Nigeria - Akeem Oyewale

As part of effort in deepening the knowledge of Islamic Finance and creating awareness about the Market for the populace, the Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria Financial Literacy Technical Committee plans in year 2021 to introduce Islamic Finance Education to the curriculum of secondary schools and tertiary institutions.

This edition of the Islamic Finance Weekly anchored by Bukola Akinyele-Yisau features Mr. Akeem Oyewale, the Chief Executive Officer of Marble Capital Limited and also a member of the Securities and Exchange, Nigeria Financial Literacy Technical Committee.

He asserts that the main purpose of Islamic Finance Literacy is for people to understand that there is an alternative form of financing, which will give them opportunity to manage their financial needs and get access to financial resources and also achieve their financial goals in line with their ethical beliefs.

Also, he noted that the Islamic finance institutions are working closely together with NUC and other stakeholders to ensure proper series of communication on Islamic finance are shared across the websites of Universities in the country.
