CITC Leadership Centre, a private initiative and strategic platform designed to reposition leadership in Nigeria, for global impact hosted its maiden edition of the “Leadership MasterClass” session at the Renaissance Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos.
The CITC Leadership MasterClass program, which is designed to be Nigeria’s thought-process industry’s leading forum brought together stakeholders in the various sectors of the economy and governance space. It was also an opportunity to showcase the Nigerian and African hands-on experiences and exposure of respected Leaders with achievements, with the view to promoting corporate excellence & trans-generational leadership.

Giving the opening remarks CEO of the CITC Leadership Centre Mr Tayo Orekoya shared the essence of the Masterclass to participants, which he stressed was focused on leadership development in Nigeria.
Orekayo said the CITC Leadership centre was seeking to transform the business landscape, national and regional economies, through strategic leadership.
The CITC CEO stressed that the centre, will emphasize leadership development in areas like service, leadership, integrity, competence, commitment and excellence and the objective is to transform the business landscape.
Special guest of honor, Mr Niyi Adesanya speaking at the event, giving his own perspective on leadership, believed leadership is 100% influence based on 100% inspiration. “Leadership mastery is based on relationship, Self mastery and business mastery” he said.
He gave an insight into situational leadership, which is the ability to adopt different leadership styles in different situations depending on the personality involved, leaders deal with equitably and not similar. Mr Adesanya says a leader cannot lead without being charismatic, institutional, transactional and transformational in ideas.
Notable Nigerian Economist Dr. Abiodun Adedipe in his presentation quoted John Maxwell, who defined the word leadership as “influence” that off course puts leadership within the reach of every person, irrespective age, location, vocation, technical competence or achievements.
Adedipe noted that leadership is the ability to set direction for action and motivate ordinary folks to deliver extraordinary goals.
