Pursuant to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)'s rule on Public Limited Companies which states that "all securities of unlisted public companies should be bought, sold, or transferred only through an approved OTC market", NASD has created a database of unlisted PLCs that are SEC-registered however not trading on any traditional exchange.
NASD anticipates this action would create more market activity in the capital market through the admission of these companies on an SEC-approved exchange.
The NASD OTC has two ways through which PLCs can be admitted on her exchange.
Participating Institutions with investors owning the security of any of the firms on the quotation list can introduce them for trading.
We are open to assist in complying with the rules set by the SEC and deepen the Nigerian capital market, enhance investor confidence level through providing liquidity.
NASD OTC Securities Exchange Market closed on a Positive note YTD as the market recorded an increase in performance. NASD Security Index Year-to-date returns increased by 0.70%. Total volume traded Year-to-Date stands at 12,785,024,931 units in 4671 deals and total Value traded is N29,836,096,989.64.
