We were pleased to partner with the Lagos
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) to host the International
Women's Day Forum 2020 on March 5, 2020 at the Commerce House,
Idowu, Taylor, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The forum which was themed 'Equal
Access to Capital†focused on addressing the major challenge - access to
finance - faced by women in business. The theme was predicated on the result of
a survey carried out by NASD on women in business across various industries in
Nigeria in which an overwhelming majority of respondents identified access to
finance as a major challenge.
The Keynote address at the forum was
excellently delivered by Mrs. Ndidi Nwuneli co-founder and managing partner
of Sahel Consulting, co-founder of AACE
Foods, and founder
of LEAP Africa. Afterwards, there was a panel discussion - comprising of women leaders
from various industries - which provided an opportunity for the panelists to
share their personal experience on challenges encountered in business and also
proffer practical solutions to other business owners at the forum. NASD in its capacity as a Securities Exchange
shall continue to encourage women in business and facilitate ease of access to
capital via its products and service offerings. We therefore would like to say
a big thank you to all our partners and attendees at the event who contributed
to the success of the event.
Happy International Women's Day!
