Stockbrokers Holds Its 23rd Annual Stockbrokers Conference
Chartered Stockbrokers operating in Nigeria
gathered at the Oriental Hotel Lagos for the 23rd annual
conference. Themed "Boosting Capital Market Competitiveness in a
challenging Macro-environment"; some of the critical discussions in
the conference were:
NASD was pleased to be a speaker at the
conference. We tacitly endorse deliberate employment of the capital market in
the development of the economy. We additionally have employed the local
Fintech industry in deploying NASDeP (a private investment portal) and a mobile
app that provides information for local investors. We further agree with a
key point raised in the plenary sessions that the Nigeria market must
demonstrate liquidity ...and transparency.
NASD Attends the Inauguration of new Board Members of SEC
NASD was pleased to meet with the
newly appointed Board members of Sec held at the Capital Market Committee 3rd
meeting for 2019 on the 21st November, 2019.
The Board Comprises of Seasoned
Professionals led by Mr. Olufemi Lijadu a corporate lawyer and two other
directors.
NASD Believes that this board will
be critical in steering regulation in the Nigerian Capital Market as well as
ensuring greater liquidity and transparency.
Afriland Properties Plc Investor Call
We were pleased to host Afriland
Properties Plc to an Investor Call on 20, November 2019 and would like to
specially extend our thanks to all stakeholders in attendance including; Asset
Managers, Pension Fund Administrators, Private Equity representatives and
Stockbroking Houses.
The Investor Call provided Afriland
Properties Plc an opportunity to interact with market participants on issues
relating to financial performance, on-going activities and projections for the
future. As always, timely Information dissemination and frequent interaction with
capital market participants continue to remain critical for both enterprises
and stakeholders within the capital market. As a result, we continue to
encourage this discipline among Admitted Securities on the NASD
Over-The-Counter [OTC] Securities Exchange.

trade week on 22 November 2019, market Capitalisation
increased to N507.85 billion from last
week's previous N513.12 billion, which shows a
1.03% decrease in Capitalisation. Also the NSI for the week ended
22 November 2019 recorded a decrease from
714.21 points to 706.88 points.
