As Nigeria seeks to deepen it's broadband space to expand digital and telecommunications services, VDT Communications is set to launch in July, 2019 it's retail data network "4G LTE Advanced Service" into the market.
This comes as the Communications company successfully acquired a broad channel 2.3Hz spectrum from the Federal Government, through Bitflux Communications Limited .
Bitflux Communications Limited is a consortium which had VDT as a principal partner.
The concept is that VDT is leveraging from the Bitflux network, which it built from scratch to provide premium quality 4G broadband experience in the country.
Considering the challenge and gaps of poor quality networks and data services in the country, VDT is exploring the opportunity of providing Nigerians exceptional broadband experience.
VDT will be looking at providing data plans at affordable rates that are as low as N3,500 with unlimited internet data plans at low prices.
With 80% network coverage of Lagos State already, VDT plans to cover the entire state and other leading cities in the country.
VDT joins the likes of Smile Networks and Swift Communications in providing 4G LTE data services for the Nigerian populace.
Broadband will be a critical infrastructure for driving Nigeria's digital economy, from the digital financial services to the digitization process of government services and business operations of MSMEs.
Nigeria's current broadband penetration level is pegged at 32%, and a recent roadmap plan, rolled out by the Federal Government has set a target of 70% penetration by 2021.
