Unilever appoints three directors

Unilever Nigeria has appointed three new directors. They are messrs Kwaku Boateng, David Okeme and Kasturi Sudarshan, who are now directors in charge of Customer Development, Brand Building and Finance, respectively.
A statement by the company’s Corporate Affairs Manager, Mr. Yemi Adeboye, on Tuesday in Lagos, described the men as having “a combined working experience of 58 years within Unilever between them.”
The statement added, “All the newly appointed directors joined Unilever as management trainees in the 1990s and brought a great deal of experience to the Unilever Nigeria team from operations across the world – USA, India, South Africa, Ghana, Middle East and Turkey.”
The Customer Development Director, Boateng, holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, and has about 20 years of Unilever experience.
Prior to his current role, he served as Supply Chain Director and Customer Development Director for Unilever Ghana in 2005 and 2008 respectively. Kwaku has also functioned as Regional Foods Supply Chain Planning Director for Unilever’s AMET business in South Africa.
Okeme, on his part, joined Unilever Nigeria in 1992 with an Honours Degree in English from the University of Jos. Having about 18 years of experience in Customer Marketing, Brand Development and Brand Building, David returned to Unilever Nigeria as Brand Building Director, following three years as the Regional Brand Development Manager for Unilever’s Oral Care business in the Gulf. He is a Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing in Nigeria, and an alumnus of London and Wharton Business Schools.
