Oil & Gas Sector – TOTAL, SEPLAT Top Gainers as FO Closes 2016 with Negative Price Return

The Oil & Gas sector remains one of the most critical sectors of the Nigerian economy and currently has thirteen (13) companies listed on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

A quick review of the EPS ratio of the oil & gas sector reveals that TOTAL tops and closely followed by MOBIL and MRS while SEPLAT and OANDO lead otherwise with negative EPS.

A review of the PE Ratio of the oil & gas sector shows that FO and MOBIL top the table while CAPOIL and SEPLAT lead otherwise with negative figures.

TOTAL tops Oil and gas sector on Return on Equity (RoE) ratio while  ETERNA  recorded the least ratio with a negative figure.

Also, MOBIL tops oil & gas sector’s PAT Margin as TOTAL follows on the ladder, while JAPAULOIL and BECOPETRO recorded the least percentage figure.

Oil & Gas sector records five (5) gainer to four (4) losers in 2016 as at 30th December, 2016. TOTAL tops the list of gainers with +103.39% while ETERNA tops the losers’ chart with -75.61% loss.
