Seven-up Bottling Company Plc (Seven-UP), an independent manufacturer and distributor of non-alcoholic beverage products including Seven-Up, Mirinda, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Aquafina, and Teem, remains one of Nigeria’s leading food and beverage companies. It has remained the sole bottler with public quotation since the delisting of Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) in 2011....

Revenues for the six-month period increased by 2.3% to N27.55 billion from N26.93 billion in the corresponding period of 2011. As a result of lower growth in cost of sales, gross profits increase by 4.4% to N10.08 billion in 2012 from N9.65 billion in 2012....

We are strongly of the opinion that unlike other global multinational food, drink and confectionery makers in Nigeria, Seven-Up’s product range is too narrow and unexciting for the fast changing consumption pattern in the country....

Even as NBC delisted from the NSE, parent company – Coca-Cola Hellenic invested about US$300m in the local business to expand operations over the next two years and fend off competition....
