Nigeria’s foremost logistics company, Red Star Express Plc, has upgraded its International Organization of Standardization (ISO) Certification to ISO 9001: 2015, having previously held the 9001:2008 certification. The new certification ensures that the Company remains one of the top organizations, as regards maintaining high standards in providing products and services for clients and customers.

The ISO 9001 certification, which is overseen by the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON), focuses mainly on quality management, by ensuring that a Company’s products and/or services are designed, properly documented and implemented according to the approved standards.

Group Managing Director, Red Star Express Plc, Sola Obabori, stated that the upgrade was a necessary step for the company, as it looks to improve its operational processes. “We have realized that some of the criteria for Certification require that the Company be customer-focused, ensure timely pick-up and delivery of parcels and documents, have a system approach to management, provide continual improvement to processes, have mutually beneficial supplier relationships, as well as proving our commitment to maintaining quality on all levels.”

“By meeting the rigorous third-party ISO 9001:2015 certification process, we have demonstrated that we have the ability to meet our customers’ quality requirements, apply all relevant regulatory requirements, enhance customer satisfaction and ensure continuous improvements in line with these objectives. It also means that our customers have complete assurance that Red Star Express Plc operates to the highest quality standards and that all regulatory requirements are met when rendering service.” he added.

The Quality and Service Assurance Manager, Red Star Express Plc, Toyin Owolabi, mentioned that the process of earning the new certification, which started in June 2018, was concluded by December 2018. “It was a tough process that was necessary for our growth as a company. Red Star Express Plc has evolved since the last certification process, in terms of how our operations and processes are run. We are happy with this upgrade and, as always, we will strive to ensure that we live up to the high standards that it entails” he added.
