Nigeria’s Equities Market closed the month of May 2019 in the green zone as NSEASI halts downwards movement to close positive by +6.55% as against -6.06% loss recorded in the month of April 2019 while the NASD USI closed in red with -1.26% loss recorded at the end of the month under review as against +0.06%  gain in April 2019.

 

On market development, regulation and investors protection, the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday May 31st 2019 announced its far reaching decisions on the investigation of Oando Plc following the forensic audit directed by the commission after the two petitions dated back to 2017.

 

Further to this, the Commission has constituted an Interim Management Team headed by Mr. Mutiu Olaniyi Adio Sunmonu to oversee the affairs of Oando Plc, and conduct an Extra Ordinary General Meeting on or before July 1, 2019 to appoint new Directors to the Board of the Company, who would subsequently select a Management Team for Oando Plc.

 

Also, Dangote Cement Plc host the maiden edition of the NSE facts behind the sustainability report as it emerged the first quoted company in the Nigeria Stock Exchange to make a formal presentation to market stakeholders. This act is expected to help the cement manufacturer to adhere to high standards of corporate governance, deepening its social impact, exceeding regulatory compliance, and delivering greater returns for shareholders.
