ALERT: 0.79% of WEMABANK's Outstanding Shares Traded on NSE Today

At the close of trading today, a total volume of 304.53mln units of shares of Wema Bank Plc valued at N197.29mln were traded. 

 

This represents 60.03% of the total market volumes of 507.25mln while the value of WEMABANK shares traded represents 8.08% of the total market value traded which was put at N2.44bn.

 

Furthermore, the volume traded represents 0.79% of WEMABANK's total shares outstanding put at 38.57bn shares while the value of the shares traded also represents 0.81% of WEMABANK market capitalization as at February 26, 2021. 

 

A comparison of WEMABANK today's volume traded with the previous day's traded volume revealed that it increased by 18,117%.

 

The share price of  WEMABANK moved down by a tick size of -10% to close at N0.63k at the close of trading today.

 

Year-to-date, WEMABANK shares have shed -8.70% as against -1.17% YTD return recorded by the NSEASI, underperforming the broad market index by 7.53%.

 

It is pertinent to state that the trading activities on the stock can be attributed to profit taking as the financial institution released its Q4 2020 Unaudited Results on NSE on Thursday February 25th, 2021  with its Gross Earning down by 15% and PAT also down by -3%.
