First City Monument Bank Plc has announced the implementation of a new community investment initiative, Kids Vision, to help less privileged children and shape the minds and future of the Nigerian child.

Kid Vision is a photographic exhibition of works of children from diverse backgrounds for the purpose of raising funds towards developmental projects in selected communities. The exhibition holds from December 9 - 14 in Lagos.

A statement by the bank on Wednesday, noted that in a project tagged, “My Town Lagos,” selected students from the Premier Foundation School, Iwaya; Preparatory School, Ikoyi; and Lekki Orphanage were provided with cameras to take images of their environment.

The project, according to the statement, is designed to reveal the way the children see their world through the use of cameras provided to record events and circumstances around them.

Group Managing Director, FCMB, Mr. Ladi Balogun said, “This is a project in partnership with the African Child Development Initiative; a non-profit organisation, which shares our vision to promote lasting improvement in the lives of the less privileged, especially the Nigerian child.

“In line with our corporate social responsibility objective, which is tied to community investment, this project is to raise funds for the development of our chosen communities, with Iwaya Makoko community in Yaba as the first phase. It also aims at bridging the widening social gap and raise awareness of the plight of thousands of underprivileged children among their better off counterparts, which will in the long term be beneficial to Nigeria. -punchng
