As part of its commitment to creating value in the Nigerian financial market, United Capital a leading investment banking group today announced a redesigned version of its online investment portfolio management trading platform “InvestNow”.
This is in line with the expansion of the scope and perspective of the portal to reach out to a wider market in Nigeria and Pan-Africa.
At a media parley in its head office in Marina, Lagos the Group CEO of United Capital Mr Peter Ashade believed it was a landmark in the history of the company, and a unique offering that is poised to change the narrative of the financial services industry in the country.
Mr Ashade shared that the new version is an improvised level of the initial platform that focused only on the securities trading segment of the market.
With the new version Invest Now according to the United Capital GCEO covers other segments of the business which include; the trustees, investment banking and asset management.
“The new version of Invest Now moves beyond the equities market to the money market, providing high-level convenience and empowering investors to manage their account”. Ashade said
Giving a presentation on Invest Now Mr Joseph Onyema the Chief Information Officer of United Capital said “We have tried to change the thinking around investing. What we have done is create a platform with products to cater to all the segments of people across Nigeria”.
On the concept of the platform he buttressed the fact that Invest Now allows Nigerian investors to start at the lowest level of risk and at a low minimum investment level, and grow with them as they increase their risk appetite and portfolio size.
Mr Onyema stated that the entire Invest Now platform on web, mobile or android is covered by the highest level of online security.
Speaking on the feature of the Direct Debit fund in InvestNow, Onyema said it was now possible for investors to fund their account from their other existing bank accounts per day, per week or per month, growing their online investment automatically, allowing them to focus on other things.
To ensure the InvestNow provides real time investment experience for Nigerians from all levels, Onyema disclosed the new social media and customer experience of the company.
With the WhatsApp engine InvestNow will be interactive with the youth, market women and businessmen, while the 07000INVEST will be the help line that will attend to all customers that make enquiries on the platform.
The actionable points on the portal according to Onyema are Fund my account, Live trading and Buy mutual funds.
“InvestNow tracks changes in the equities market by the second, to be able to make accurate stock recommendations that human observers could never constantly provide” Onyema said.
To ensure first-class online security, InvestNow was upgraded to an EV level 3 certificate, which is the highest level and is insured at $50,000.
Also speaking at the event the Managing Director of United Capital Mr Jude Chiemeka believed it was a unique innovation in the market, which gives investors an opportunity to manage their broad investment objective.
