Daily Energy Generation Attained a Peak of 3,859.59MW in Q4 2016 - NBS

The power generation statistics for Q4 2016 reflected that a total average of 2,548GWH of energy was generated by power stations as Egbin Power Plant contributed about 12.47% share of the average energy generated which represents the highest generation among the twenty (25) power plants within the period under review. Also, an average of 2,497GWH of energy was sent out as Okpai Power Plant has the highest percentage share of 12.13% of average energy sent out in Q4 2016. 

Daily energy generation attained a peak of 3,859.59MW on 15th October, 2016 and daily energy sent out on same date was 3,798.16. Similarly, the highest daily energy generated per hour attained a peak of 92,630MWH on 15th October, 2016 and daily energy sent out per hour on same date was 91,156 MWH. 

However, the lowest daily energy generation, 2,522MW, in Q4 2016 was attained on 28th October, 2016 and daily energy sent out on that date was 2,472 MW. The lowest daily energy generation per hour was also attained on same date. 60,546 MWH was generated and 59,328 MWH was sent out. 

In November 2016, daily energy generation attained a peak of 3,707.09MW on 22nd November, 2016 and daily energy sent out on same date was 3,644.86MW. Similarly, the highest daily energy generated per hour in the month under review attained a peak of 88,970MWH and daily energy sent out per hour on same date was 87,477,156 MWH. 

Nevertheless, daily energy generation dropped to its lowest of 2,685.26 on 24th November, 2016 and daily energy sent out on same date was 2,640.99MW. Similarly, the lowest daily energy generation per hour was also attained on same date. 64,446 MWH was generated and 63,384MWH was sent out. 

Power generation statistics for December 2016 was only available from December 1st to 4th, 2016. Daily energy generation in December attained a peak of 3,197.03MW on 1st December, 2016 and daily energy sent out on same date was 3,153.86. Similarly, the highest daily energy generated per hour attained a peak of 76,729MWH on 1st December, 2016 and daily energy sent out per hour on same date was 75,693 MWH. 

The lowest daily energy generation attained in December 2016 was 2,737.34 and the lowest daily energy sent out of 2,691.70 was attained on 4th December, 2016. Likewise, the lowest daily energy generation per hour was also attained on same date. 65,696 MWH was generated and 64,601 MWH was sent out.
