Today, Senator Hope Uzodinma moved that the Senate do consider the report of the Committee on Customs and Excise on the Nigerian Customs Service Management Act (Repeal and Re-enactment) Bill, 2017 (SB. 247).

Senate dissolved into the Committee of the Whole to consider the report of the Committee on Customs and Excise on the Nigerian Customs Service Management Act (Repeal and Re-enactment) Bill, 2017 (SB. 247).

Senate reverted back to Plenary and reported progress.

The Nigerian Customs Service Management Act (Repeal and Re-enactment) Bill, 2017 (SB.247) was read the third time and passed.

Senate President Bukola Saraki congratulated the Committee on Customs and Excise and all that contributed, he said this will reform our customs and its procedures, it ensures that Nigerians comply with World Trade Organization (WTO). Senate President Bukola Saraki stated that we hope this new bill will increase revenue and create an enabling environment for business.
