The young dynamic President Emmanuel Macron of France will visit Nigeria from Tuesday July 3rd, 2018 in what analysts have described as an opportunity to strengthen Franco-Nigerian bi-lateral relations.
This time the remarkable Nigerian Arts and Culture Industry will take pre-eminence as President Macron beyond his meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari will visit the popular “Afrikan Shrine” built by the Afro-beat music legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti in Lagos.
Fela Anikulapo Kuti(Late) had his first-ever European concert in France in 1981.
The French President will be hosted to an evening of concerts by top music artistes and displays by leading Nigerian designers at the “Afrikan Shrine” in an event organized by Ecobank in partnership with Trace the notable TV and music channel.
He will also engage key stakeholders in the Nigerian Nollywood Industry on developments around the film and motion pictures space.
On Wednesday July 4th, 2018 the French leader will commission the Alliance Francais centre in Ikoyi, Lagos which will provide an opportunity for more Nigerians and Africans to learn about the French culture and language, in a conducive environment.
France has about 120 businesses in Nigeria and is Africa’s largest trading partner and According to Ms Bosun Irele the Ambassador of Nigeria to France, French investment last year in Nigeria hit 350 million euros , which is about N150bn.
Nigeria’s trade volume with France hit about $1.8bn in 2017, while France has been working Nigeria by providing military intelligence support in the area of tackling insurgency perpetrated by terrorists groups like Boko Haram.
