Countdown to 2019 Elections: Key Updates From INEC in Numbers

The Independent National Electoral Commission today through its Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu gave updates on key developments around its preparation for the elections. 

He also clarified certain issues raised by the media and also used the occasion to give further briefing on the plans of the electoral body for the Presidential and National Assembly elections. 

We bring you the breakdown of the major highlights of the INEC media briefing in numbers.



The total number of registered Nigerian voters for the 2019 elections  are 84,004,084 across the country.



Out of the 84 million registered voters in the country, 72.77million Permanent Voters Cards have been collected. 

This constitutes 86.63% of all the PVC s distributed  in the country.



This is the number of PVCs that have not been collected by Nigerians which makes it 13% of the total distributed.



According to INEC the total number of states that have experienced the full deployment of electoral materials for the elections is 19 out of 36. 

The remaining 17 States are expected to receive their materials by latest Friday February 22, 2019.
