Buhari Re-appoints Boss Mustapha As SGF And Abba Kyari As Chief of Staff To The President

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the re-appointment of Mr. Boss Mustapha as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), and Malam Abba Kyari as Chief of Staff (COS) to the President. 

The appointments of the SFG and COS were announced by Malam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity. 

Mr. Boss Mustapha who hails from Adamawa State is a lawyer, businessman and politician and management consultant. 

He was previously the Managing Director of the Nigerian Inland Waterways Authority, before his appointment as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation on October 30, 2017. 

Also, Malam Abba Kyari, who has served as Chief of Staff to the President since 2015, will be serving for another term in that position. 

Kyari who hails from Kwara State is a retired Military Officer who led the Northern Delegates in the 1994 National Conference in Abuja. 

Malam Kyari served in the boards of First Bank of Nigeria, Standard Alliance and Merchant Bank of Commerce. He became Chairman of Gamah Flour Mills and Alif Engineering and Construction Company.

The appointments take effect from May 29th, 2019. 

These appointments come 24 hours after the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), and the Action Peoples Party (APP) approached an Abuja Federal High Court, to order the vacation from office political appointees of President Muhammadu Buhari, who are yet to be re-appointed.
