The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress party, today announced the cancellation and indefinite postponement of the Lagos Gubernatorial primaries.

Chairman of the Election Panel for Lagos Dr. Clement Ebri disclosed this at a press conference this evening.

The cancellation nullified the primaries that was ongoing earlier today in the State.

Reports had it that Mr Babajide Sanwoolu was leading by a wide margin ahead of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

Mr Sanwoolu is the preferred candidate of the APC party leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Governor Ambode who had fallen out of favour with Tinubu, in a press conference on Sunday called for a level playing field in the guber primaries.

The cancellation reveals the fact that the National and Lagos state organs of the party, are in clear disagreement in the process for conducting the primaries.
