Lagos, Federal High Court - The court has today adjourned the case of unlawful termination of employment brought forward by Prof. Ndi Okereke till April 15, 2011, for arguments.
On the 9th of March 2011, the NSE had filed an application to the court not to give judgement but to allow them to file a counter affidavit. This was granted and a decision was to be made today.
It will be recalled that the NSE had insisted that they wanted to be part of the case and this was granted. This was after SEC had closed its matters on the issue.
In adjourning the case, the judge noted that the NSE lawyer has consistently tried to delay the matter when it again came to court. A cost was awarded against the NSE for wasting the courts time through technicalities and delays employed in favour of Prof. Ndi Okereke.
The judge (Justice Idris) however, on the basis of fair hearing, allowed the NSE have their way, setting aside the position of March 9, 2011.  Arguments and responses to affidavits filed will be taken on April 15, 2011 at the Federal High Court, Lagos.
