We wish to notify The Exchange that at the 24th Annual General Meeting of the Bank held on Thursday, 28th June 2018, three (3) new Directors were appointed to the Board of the Bank.
These appointments became necessary due to the death of Mr. Audu Abubakar on 13th December 2017, the retirement of Mr. Emmanuel Wabali on 18th January 2018 and the need for female representation on the Board of the Bank, in line with the directive of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The newly appointed directors and their designations are:
1. Mr. Abdulrahman Satumari ' - Non-Executive Director (Independent)
2. Mrs. Rakiya Edota Shehu - Non-Executive Director (Independent)
3. Mr. Salihu Argungu Hashimu - Non-Executive Director
Below are the profiles of the appointed Directors:
Mr. Abdulrahman Satumari: Mr. Satumari was born on 24th June, 1974 and hails from Askira Uba Local Government Area, Borno State. He is a graduate of the University of Maiduguri with a Bsc. (Hons) in Business Management (Banking & Finance) 2004. He also obtained a Diploma in Accounting and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management both from the same university. He is currently the Chairman and CEO of Mo-Tex Engineering Services Ltd.
Mrs. Rakiya Edota Shehuz : Mrs. Shehu was born on 2oth February, 1974 and hails from Niger State. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Management Studies form the Usman Dan Fodio University Sokoto State in 1996. Mrs. Shehu has 17 years’ experience in banking having worked with United Bank for Africa from 1999-2016. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Operations Management of Nigeria.
Mr. Salihu Argungu Hashimuz: Mr. Salihu Argungu Hashimu was born on 1oth July 1957 and hails from Kebbi State in Argungu Local Government Area. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto and a Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M) from the University of Abuja. He was called to the Nigeria Bar in 2001.He started his career with the Nigeria Police Force in 1986 where he held several positions and retired as a Deputy Inspector General of Police in 2016, after a meritorious service.
The appointments of the three Directors have been approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
