A Leadership engagement on Workplace Innovation, focusing on “Millennials” was convened today in Lagos,Nigeria  by the Head, Brand Management and Communications, Skye Bank Plc Mr Nduneche Ezurike.  

It  brought together stakeholders from the communications, human capacity development and financial market space in Nigeria.  

Giving his presentation on Employee Engagement and the millennials, Ezurike asserted that “Employee Engagement is not an activity, but an activation”.  

He harped on the need for Organizations to drive communication, collaboration and community in their “Employee Marketplace drive” to achieve efficiency.  

Ezurike believed Innovation and business growth should be the thrust of organizations, giving priority to people, strategy, process, technology and experience.  

Looking at the Millennials Mr Ezurike shared that a recent report from KPMG UK, showed that they will constitute 72% of the global workforce by 2025, which organizations must pay attention to.

Speaking further on his research which was conducted with the support of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Nigeria, Ezurike noted that 50% of the workforce of the banking Industry in Nigeria were Millennials.  

Considering the age of disruption, the convener called on organizations to be proactive and strategic in their engagement with Millennials.  

He stressed the value of “Employee Analytics” which should be deployed as a guide to understanding the behavioural patterns of employees.  

Ezurike proposed the cycle of  the 3Cs (community, collaboration and communication),co-creation outsourcing and innovation & business growth.  

After his presentation, there was a robust interactive session on the future of employee engagement as it concerns the “Millennials”.
