Jumia Appoints Juliet Anammah As Chairwoman Nigeria Office and Head Institutional Affairs for Africa

Jumia Group, a leading e-commerce company in Nigeria and Sub-saharan Africa, has appointed Mrs. Juliet Anammah as the new Chairwoman of the Nigeria Office and Head, Institution Affairs for Africa Operations.

 

Until her appointment, she was the CEO of Jumia Nigeria, coordinating the local operations of the e-commerce platform in the country. Mrs. Anammah will also take up the role of Head, Institutional Affairs for the Africa Operations of Jumia Group.

 

As Head of Institutional Affairs for Africa, she will engage policymakers, government agencies and regulators across the continent on developments that will affect the business of the company in the region.

 

The company's co-founder Jeremy Hodara observed that Anammah's elevation comes as recognition of the dedication, resilience and leadership capacity she has demonstrated over the years at Jumia.

 

Mr. Massimiliano Spalazzi will now take over from Anammah as CEO Jumia Nigeria.

 

Hodara described the new appointments as strategic steps by the digital commerce platform to drive efficiency in its operations.

 

Jumia last year emerged the first African start-up to list on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
