CIBN appoints new management Staff

The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has appointed additional Management Staff as part of efforts to reposition the Institute in line with international standards, which will further improve competency and service delivery to stakeholders.

Among the new staff engaged to take the Institute to greater heights include, Mr. Olutade Samuel Fadare, former Head Business & Operational Risk Management, First City Monument Bank Plc, appointed as Deputy Registrar; Mr. Akinwale Morakinyo, former Head Operations Development Division and Special Projects Division, Globacom Ltd.,  as Assistant Director, Capacity Building & Certification; Mrs. Senamie Ayodeji, former Managing Consultant, TFP Consult Ltd, as Group Head, Learning and Development; Mr. Olaniyi Olaloku, former Strategy/Project Management Consultant to NISER, ELAN and LCCI, as Head, CIBN Consult and Mr. Debola Omolaja, former Solution Architect, En Passant Ltd, as Head, ICT.

Mr. Olutade Fadare, FCIB, Deputy Registrar.


Prior to joining the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, he was the Head of Business and Operational Risk at First City Monument Bank plc with primary responsibility for coordinating and implementing the bank’s Enterprise Risk Management project. He has worked as an Audit Senior and Audit Manager with international financial services institutions including, Barclays Bank plc, Royal Bank of Scotland plc, EFG Private Bank (UK) Limited and Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc. He also had a stint as Consultant/Senior Manager with the Business Risk Services practice of Grant Thornton (UK) LLP providing advisory services to Grant Thornton (UK) LLP’s clients.

Mr. Fadare is a prize winning Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and has contributed peer-reviewed papers to a number of academic journals including International Research Journal of Finance and Economics, and International Journal of Economics and Finance. He studied Economics at the Obafemi Awolowo University at undergraduate level and University of Lagos at graduate level. He also obtained an MSc in Finance and Investment from the University of Edinburgh and an MBA, Finance, from the University of Manchester. He is a Fellow of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments. He is also an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.


Mr. Akin Morakinyo, Assistant Director, Capacity Building & Certification





Mr. Akin Morakinyo, prior to joining the services of the Institute, had over 15 years experience in various disciplines such as Human Capacity development, Customer Care,Training and Development, and Project Management, spanning Hospitality and Telecommunication industries. For instance, at Globacom Ltd.

He was Head, Operations Development Division, a division which comprises of Training and Development, Quality Assurance, Business Process Workplace, Workforce Management and MIS/IS Support. He was also head of Special Projects Division and Customer Care Department. Before moving to Globacom, he had worked with Econet Wireless Nigeria Ltd. (now Airtel) as Team Lead - Call Centre .He also had a brief stint with Sheraton Lagos Hotel & Towers Nigeria as Guest Service Agent and Human Resources Officer-Training Unit.

He holds a Masters degree in Public and International Affairs from University of Lagos; B.Sc in Resource Management and Extension, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), Osun State College of Educatio, Ila Orangun. He is a member of Nigerian Institute of Training and Development; Institute of Public Management; and Project Management Institute, USA. Mr. Morakinyo is a recipient of several awards and prizes in recognition of his outstanding performance and services including the Lagos State Best Corper.


Mrs. Senamie Ayodeji, ACIB, Group Head, Learning and Development


Prior to joining CIBN, Mrs. Ayodeji was the CEO/Managing Consultant of TFP Consult Limited, a training consultancy company, which specializes in the provision of customized training solutions to various organizations. Mrs. Ayodeji is an experienced banker, trainer and consummate professional with extensive experience in the Banking Industry as well as in the Consulting Industry over the last fifteen years in the areas of Business Strategy; Customer Relationship Management, Service Excellence; Marketing of Financial Services and Training.

She has worked with such reputable institutions as KPMG Consulting, UBA Plc and Ecobank Nigeria Plc. Mrs. Ayodeji holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Ibadan and an MBA in International Business from The American College in London; UK. She is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB) in the UK and in Nigeria.


Mr. Olaniyi Olaloku, Head, CIBN Consult.



Olaniyi Olaloku, the Head CIBN Consult, is a Strategy and Project Management Consultant with over twelve years practical experience in strategy consulting and project management in the banking and consulting industries.

Prior to his engagement with the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, he was a project consultant to the DFID/ENABLE[1] Program where he managed projects with key Business Membership Organisations in the areas of strategy, project management and concept development. In addition he has held key strategic positions in UBA Plc and FCMB Plc, managing strategic transformation projects and initiatives.

He is an economics graduate from the University of Ibadan, a certified Project Management Professional, member, Project Management Institute (USA) and the Strategic Planning Society (UK).



Mr. Debola Omolaja, Head, ICT



Mr. Debola Omolaja, an experienced Software/Database Administrator prior to moving over to the Institute as the Head of Information Communication Technology, worked with En Passant Ltd as a Solution Architect. He also served as Team Lead, Business/HR Process Automation; and Record Analyst Zenith Bank Plc and Software Developer, Splashers Technologies International among others where he participated in the design and implementation of an HR Information System strategy, Performance Appraisal System, and a People Balance Sheet (PBS) for a global security solution firm.  

He holds a B.Sc Mathematical Science (Computer Science Option), University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Ogun State and a certified Web Programmer, Oracle Database 10g Administrator; Microsoft Database Administrator and Microsoft Technology Specialist.

Their appointment is part of the restructuring and re-positioning exercise aimed at assisting the Institute realize its mission of being a world-class institution in banking and finance education, ethics and professionalism.

They are expected to bring their wealth of experience, skills and exposure to bear on the implementation of key initiatives of the current leadership of the Institute, including, benchmarking programmes of other banking institutes in various countries; creating a new administrative structure for the Institute; enhanced Certification programmes; review of the ACIB Syllabus to create a 4 routes to ACIB qualification; development of a Competency Framework for the banking industry; improved Continuous Compulsory Development programme (CCPD) and establishment of a Banking School to deepen knowledge and skills in the industry.
