Alhaji Tijjani Borodo Launches Book "A Journey in Leadership" Dedicates it to Hardwork

The Author of the book "Journey in Leadership" Alhaji Tijjani Borodo has dedicated it to years of hard work, integrity, and faith in God.


At a hybrid event (Virtual and Physical following COVID-19 protocols) which brought together family members, friends, and associates, Borodo also used the occasion to eulogize his late father, who instilled in him the values of honesty, ethics, and truth in service to humanity.


He said his father had a huge influence on his life, philosophy, and approach to issues from the family, faith to the workplace.


Dr. Oba Otudeko,  CFR,  Group Chairman of FBN Holdings Plc who chaired the event,  felicitated with Borodo describing him as a towering figure in the corporate sector and legal profession.


Otudeko said the book provided insights on the rules and behaviours expected of leaders and service to the people.


Professor Fabian Ajogwu, SAN, Founding Partner, Kenna Partners the book reviewer commended the author,  for the book which is a masterpiece that presents didactics on governance and leadership.


He highlighted that the book emphasizes the importance of learning, experience, and formal education. Prof Ajogwu also noted that the book covered issues like patriotism, history, culture, religion, friendship, and family.


According to him the book was well-edited, published, and presented in a simple style that is relatable and interesting to read.


The book presenter and former Governor of Bauchi State His Excellency Alhaji Adamu Muazu described the author as his very good friend with whom he shared a strong bond. He said Tijjani Borodo was the epitome of excellence, hard work, dedication, and humility.


Giving his remarks Alhaji Umar Mutallab the former Chairman of First Bank Nigeria lauded Alhaji Tijjani Borodo and extolled his virtues of hard work and selflessness throughout his service.


Mr. Jacobs Moyo Ajekigbe former MD/CEO of First Bank Nigeria commended the author for his service to the bank, effective coordination of annual general meetings, and his role as a people person.


Chairman of First Bank Nigeria Mrs. Ibukun Awosika in her remarks described Borodo as a detribalized Nigerian, a bridge-builder, and a  great mobilizer of the FBN family.


Alhaji Bala Borodo the elder brother of the author and former Minister of State, Mines and Steel Development in his goodwill message,  said he has brought pride and honour to the family, and is well respected and loved because of his generosity.


Highlights of the event were the formal unveiling of the book by Alhaji Adamu Muazu and the virtual launch by Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Group for the sum of N10m.


The event was well attended by the cream of the Nigerian society from business leaders, captains of industry, financial market leaders, technocrats, and elder statesmen.


'A Journey In Leadership' is a book about the exemplary times in the career of Alhaji Tijjani Borodo a former Company Secretary of FBN Holdings Plc, and the current second Vice President of the Institute of Directors (IoD), Nigeria, and board member of the Society for Corporate Governance in Nigeria, SCGN.


The 180-page book is published by May Publishers Limited and proceeds from the book launch would be used to fund activities of the Hajjiya Larai Borodo Foundation established by the wife of the author, to support less-privileged children in society.
