Nigeria’s leading share registrar service provider Africa Prudential Plc yesterday Monday August 13, 2018 honoured Mr Peter Ashade its former CEO, after twelve (12) years of meritorious service.
At a colourful ceremony in the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos market stakeholders gathered to pay tribute to the outstanding and excellent service rendered by Mr Ashade, and also welcome Mr Obong Idiong as the new CEO.
Africa Prudential Plc which evolved from a department in the United Bank of Africa Group, to become a full-fledged registrar company is the first registrar company to be listed in the Nigeria stock exchange.
From year-on-year profit margins to value created for shareholders, Africa Prudential Plc under Ashade’s watch pursued innovation to the highest level diversifying from a registrar to real-time financial services firm.
With additional focus on business support services, superior investor relations and innovative solutions Africa Prudential has increased its client base to 70 cutting across various sectors of the economy.
Chairman of the United Bank of Africa and notable African philanthropist Mr Tony .O. Elumelu, CON commended Mr Peter Ashade for his meritorious service while he believed the new CEO Mr Obong Idiong had the energy and dynamism, to lead Africa Prudential Plc to greater heights.
Sir Sunny Nwosu a notable shareholder group leader lauded Mr Ashade for creating value and returns for shareholders year-on-year as the CEO and urged Mr Idiong to walk in that line, by sustaining profitability and the payment of dividends.
Chief(Mrs) Eniola Fadayomi Chairman of Africa Prudential Plc on behalf of the board thanked Mr Ashade for a remarkable service to the registrar company, and officially welcomed Mr Idiong.
She was confident that Mr Obong Idiong through his leadership will make great impact learning from Ashade’s example of dedication, commitment and hardwork.
Mr Kennedy Uzoka, GMD United Bank for Africa and Mr Emmanuel Nnorom, GCEO Heirs Holding also in their remarks extolled the qualities of Ashade and Idiong respectively.
Highlights of the event was the formal presentation of the mandate of leadership from Mr Peter Ashade to Mr Obong Idiong, signalling a shift and new era.
Mr Ashade in his brief remarks thanked the board, shareholders, staff and clients for the confidence reposed on him and was optimistic that his successor will surpass his records.
Giving his response the new CEO of Africa Prudential Plc Mr Obong Idiong commended his predecessor for his strides and exploits in the company. He promised to expand its frontiers, and ensure a robust and effective registrar and business support service .
