African Alliance Insurance Plc. (“The Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Sylva Ogwemoh (SAN) and Alhaji Ahmad Nahuche as Non- executive Directors of the Company.

Mr. Sylva Ogwemoh (SAN) is the Principal Partner and Head of the Law Firm of Kevin Martin Ogwemoh Legal, a commercial law firm with the Headquarters in Lagos. He obtained his LL. B from the then Bendel State University (now Ambrose Alli University), Ekpoma in 1987. He was admitted as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1988. In year 2000, he obtained a Master in Laws Degree (LL.M) with specialization in Corporate Management and Finance Law from the Lagos State University. He is an alumnus of Said Business School, University of Oxford, United Kingdom. He became a Notary Public of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 1998 and was subsequently elevated to the prestigious rank of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in 2014.

Mr. Ogwemoh (SAN) is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom, member of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA African Users' Council), a Panel Member of the Kigali International Arbitration Centre (KIAC), Rwanda. He is also a member of the Lagos Court of Arbitration, Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria and the Negotiation and Conflict Management Group. Mr. Ogwemoh (SAN) is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, Nigeria and a Certified Member of the Institute. He was an Associate Editor, Journal of Human Rights Law & Practice from 1991-1992. He is also a mernber of the Nigerian Bar Association, International Bar Association, LAWASIA, Nigerian Institute of Management, Capital Market Solicitors Association of Nigeria and a Registered Capital Market Practitioner with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Nigeria. Mr. Ogwemoh (SAN) is the 2018 Winner of African Prize for Leadership Excellence under the Legal Personality Leadership Prize Category.

Mr. Ogwemoh (SAN) has over 30 years of experience as a Legal Practitioner within and outside Nigeria. He has attended several local and international conferences in law and has delivered several papers on diverse subjects in law. He has handled several high-profile commercial, civil and criminal matters before Superior Courts of Record in Nigeria. His experience covers various fields of law such as Banking and Finance, Company and Commercial Law, International Business Transactions, Capital Markets, Arbitration, Real Estate, Shipping and Admiralty, and Oil and Gas law.

Alhaji Ahmad Nahuche began his career in the Judicial Service Department of the old North Western State Civil Service in 1974. He served in various capacities in the Public Service where he rose through the ranks to become the Secretary to the State Government of Sokoto and Zamfara States between 1994-1998. In 1998, he joined the Federal Civil Service where he served for 3 years as the Director; Finance/Supply at the Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja before his voluntary retirement in year 2000.

Alhaji Nahuche was conferred the Member of Order of Nigeria (MON) in 1998 by the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He was a member of the Sokoto State Industrial Policy Committee and Sokoto State Chamber of Commerce and Industries: Board Member, Birnin Kebbi Industrial Bakeries Limited, Sokoto IImi Indistrial Printing and Publishing and New Nigeria Development Company (NNDC), Kaduna. He was the Chairman, Sokoto/Kebbi Joint Sub-Committee on the sharing of Moveable Assets, Secretary to the Committee on Project Appraisal and Development of the Sokoto State Investment Company Limited.

Alhaji Nuhuche graduated from the University of Bradford, UK with a Post Graduate Certificate. He holds a Bsc. Degree in Economics from the New York Institute of Technology, USA. He is a member of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos, Plateau State.
