Nigeria’s leading capital market awards ceremony “The Pearl Awards” will hold its 2018 edition on Sunday November 25th at Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.
This was disclosed at the press conference today with a cross-section of market correspondents.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the PEARL Awards Board Dr. Faruk Umar said the press conference was to formally give a briefing on the Nominees for the 2018 PEARL Awards.
The President and CEO of the Pearl Awards Mr Tayo Orekoya FCA, said the event marked the second time that the media will be invited for PEARL Awards related activities.
He said it was another opportunity to recognize & reward outstanding corporate performances, in continuation of its selfless service to the Nigerian Capital Market and the national economy over the past 23 years.
Instituted in May, 1995 PEARL Awards according to him has over the years organized with finesse the Awards Nite annually as part of its contribution to the growth of the capital market in Nigeria.
“Since inception and to date, we have been guided by the
principles of fairness, transparency and objectivity in our selection process
while our scientific approach in determining nominee companies remains
unassailable” Orekoya said.
The theme for this 2018 edition is “Sustaining the Winning Edge”. This is in realization of the need to recognize and reward companies that, in spite of the challenges in the operating environment, local and international, have continued on the winning edge, outperforming others and emerging leaders, deserving of honour in our capital market.
