The board of investors of Visionscape a multi-faceted Environmental Utility Group company operating in Lagos, Nigeria’s economic capital in a recent letter dated October 4,2018, raised concerns over recent developments that could affect its activities.
In the letter addressed to the Chairman, Visionscape Sanitation Solutions, Mr Niyi Makanjuola it noted that the company has been at the receiving end of violent attacks on its operators, trucks and equipments.
This has occurred amidst the assurance that the accommodations made to the ‘PSPS’ by the franchise team, would appease those who felt Visionscape had come to take their jobs.
It highlighted the fact that in the current political environment, there were reports undermining the residential collection contract of Visionscape, which was described as a “misadventure”.
Lord Simon Reading the Chairman of the Board of Investors who signed the letter, called on the Executive team of Visionscape to take appropriate measures in mitigating the risks to personnel and assets of the company.
The Chairman Board of Investors also requested a detailed plan on how the investments made in Visionscape’s operations in Lagos, will be secured alongside the 1000+ team members of the company.
In his concluding statement Lord Simon said “We have steadfast confidence in your ensuring that extensive protocols and procedures will be put in place to ensure the security of our people. We believe firmly that no contract is worth jeopardizing that”.
Visionscape a Dubai-based company was contracted by the Lagos State Government in 2017 to ensure effective waste management and recycling.
