Sterling Bank
Plc has notified of the retirement of Ms. Justina Lewa and the
appointment of Mrs. Temitayo Adegoke as the Company Secretary & Chief Legal
Counsel of the bank. The appointment has been approved by the Central Bank of
Nigeria (CBN).
Ms. Lewa was appointed as Company
Secretary & Chief Legal Counsel of the Bank in July, 2009. Her retirement
comes after 28 years of meritorious service to the Bank.
Mrs. Temitayo Adegoke is a seasoned
professional with over 15 years' experience. Prior to joining the Sterling
team, Temitayo was the General Counsel & Company Secretary of Rand Merchant
Bank Nigeria Limited (RMBN). She brings to the Sterling team, the knowledge,
skills and extensive experience that she has garnered over the years.
Prior to working at RMBN, she had
also worked at First Bank of Nigeria Limited and the commercial law firm of
Aluko & Oyebode.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Law
from the University of Lagos, a Master's degree in Law from Kings College,
London, UK and an MBA degree from University of Warwick, UK. She was admitted
to the Nigerian Bar in 2002. Temitayo is an Honorary Member of the Chartered
Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (HCIB), a member of the International Bar
Association and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK (Nigeria Branch).
