It was a day full of tributes, best wishes and goodwill messages for Global Industrialist of African descent, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President, Dangote Industries at the Nigeria stock exchange.
This was a special way for the dealing members of the stock exchange and the management to honour Alhaji Dangote who clocked the diamond age of 60 today.
To mark the day, Dangote had the privilege of performing the ceremonial closing gong for the day at the bourse in the company of family members, friends and associates.
Doyen of the exchange, Mr Rasheed Yusuf, extolled the virtues of Dangote, describing him as a humble, patriotic and dedicated Nigerian and businessman.
According to Mr Yusuf, Alhaji Dangote during his tenure as President of the Nigeria stock exchange, pushed for the deepening of the Nigerian capital market in various spheres.
He also lauded Dangote for being an exemplary business leader in the area of local content promotion, with the fact that his companies are listed in the stock exchange.
The Doyen was full of expectation that the on-going Dangote Petro-chemical Refinery/Fertilizer project will also be listed in the NSE when completed.
In his response, the chief celebrant Aliko Dangote thanked the exchange for the support for his group, which has led to its expansion and the value created for the economy.
He assured the market that all his companies including the Dangote Petro-chemical refinery/fertilizer plant will be listed in the Nigeria stock exchange.
Dangote was confident that in 10 years time the expansion of the group will lead to a stronger shareholder base which will lead to shared prosperity and wealth in the nation.
