To deepen digital education and widen the digital adoption net, FintechNGR is partnering with WIMBIZ to equip career women, professionals and students with foundational digital know-how on Saturday, 6th February 2021 through Zoom.
The potential gains from digital technologies are high, however, they often remain unrealised, especially for women and girls (World Bank, 2016). The digital gender divide is a major challenge to achieving gender equality for women as it relates to relevance in the future of work, handling post-Covid job demands and playing an active role in the 4th Industrial Revolution by leveraging information and communication technologies (ICTs).
The training would delve into access and use of digital technologies and the internet, development of skills needed to use digital technologies, digital communication tools, online security; aimed at bridging the digital gender gap, building up the digital mindset and awareness, ensuring capacity development and equipping women with necessary skills to adapt to the future of work, remote working and the advancement of women to visible leadership and decision making roles in the digital sector.
The training to be facilitated by Lola Ekugo, Head, Digital & Innovation, Union Bank of Nigeria PLC and Jameelah Sharrieff-Ayedun, MD/CEO, CreditRegistry is expected to feature more than one thousand participants at no costs to them.
