Average price paid by consumers for premium motor spirit (petrol) increased by 50.1% year-on-year and 0.7% month-on-month to N149.8 in February 2017 from N148.7 in January 2017.

States with the highest average price of premium motor spirit (petrol) were Yobe (N177), Sokoto (N162.1) & Taraba (161.7).

States with the lowest average price of premium motor spirit (petrol) were Lagos (N144.9), Delta (N144.8) and Osun (N144.7).

Average price paid by consumers for automotive gas oil (diesel) increased by 3.68% month-on-month and 68.74% year-on-year to N249.38 in February 2017 from N240.52 in January 2017.

States with the highest average price of diesel were Adamawa (N280), Ebonyi (N272.5) & Cross Borno (271).

States with the lowest average price of diesel were Oyo (N226.67), Bauchi (N226) and Osun (N220).

Average price per litre paid by consumers for National Household Kerosene decreased by 18.77% month-on-month and increased by 31.34% year-on-year to N352.42 in February 2017 from N433.84 in January 2017.


States with the highest average price per litre of kerosene were Lagos (N455), Ogun (N425.44) & Ondo (424.07).

States with the lowest average price per litre of kerosene were Sokoto (N295.24), Gombe (N291.67) and Katsina (N286.11).


Similarly, average price per gallon paid by consumers for National Household Kerosene decreased by 4.77% month-on-month and increased by 81.92% year-on-year to N1,366.08 in February 2017 from N1,434.44 in January 2017


States with the highest average price per gallon of kerosene were Yobe (N1,800.00), Kebbi (N1,687.50) & Akwa Ibom(1,636.36).


States with the lowest average price per litre of kerosene were Sokoto (N1,114.29), Ebonyi (N1,080.00) and Anambra (N1,068.18).

Average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) increased by 5.48% month-on-month and 45.59% year-on-year to N2,708.38 in February 2017 from N2,567.56 in January 2017


States with the highest average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) were Edo (N3,030.00), Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Zamfara, Rivers and Kebbi (N3,000) & Delta (2,984.62).


States with the lowest average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) were Osun (N2,393.75), Oyo (N2,376.47) and Ondo,(N2,372.73).


Similarly, average price for the refilling of a 12.5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) decreased by 2.95% month-on-month and 45.49% year-on-year to N5,345.87 in February 2017 from N5,508.16 in January 2017.


States with the highest average price for the refilling of a 12.5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) were Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo, Kebbi, Rivers Yobe (N6,000.00), Delta (N5,923.08) & Borno (5,833.33).


States with the lowest average price for the refilling of a 12.5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) were Lagos (N4,797.22), Ogun (N4,777.28) and Oyo (N4,322.22).
