Transparency, governance, and accountability are considered to be core values of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, and since its inception, observers believe that the Task Force has ensured that Nigeria's COVID-19 response reflects these values.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and to mobilize resources to match the gaps and needs of eradicating the coronavirus in Nigeria, the PTF, in collaboration with the private sector and donor community, has launched two transparency dashboards.  The first is the Incidence and Response Tracker Dashboard developed by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) and funded by the Africa Initiative for Governance. (AIG). And the second is the COVID-19 Resource Tracking Dashboard developed and funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The Incidence and Response Tracker Dashboard is deployed in support of the National COVID-19 Multi-Sectoral Pandemic Response Plan of the PTF:

  • The Dashboard primarily presents and projects the resource requirements in all the states of Nigeria to enable governments and donors to identify the needs and gaps that exist in testing, treatment & isolation; contact tracing & tracking.
  • It is an internet-enabled web-based application that can be used on mobile devices; displaying national and state-by-state incidences - infections, recoveries and deaths, as well as state-by-state resources requirements and gaps.
  • The Dashboard has a back-end content management system for data entry to feed the front-end of the Dashboard and Log-in for profiled users spread across 36 states and the FCT.
  • It is designed to provide real-time data to the federal and state governments, private sector, international organizations and other donors that intend to mobilize and provide human and material resources in response to the outbreak of COVID-19 in Nigeria.
  • Through collaborations with the Nigeria Governors' Forum, each state and the Federal Capital Territory have dedicated Focal Persons, who will upload data from the frontlines onto the dashboard daily.

This dashboard serves as a transparency and accountability tool structured along with the following:

  • Financial Contribution - Shows a summary of all monetary donations received from various donors.
  • Material and In-Kind Donations - Shows all contributions received, under a variety of categories such as; Medical Supplies, Equipment, Infrastructure, Non-Medicals items among others.
  • Capacity Building and Technical Assistance - Shows contributions of technical assistance provided by partners across PTF's functional areas of the COVID19 response.
  • State Level Response Tab - Visualises the ongoing State-level responses and costing of COVID-19 efforts.

The Incidence and Response Tracker Dashboard and COVID-19 Resource Tracking Dashboard are all available on the top right corner of the PTF website - www.statehouse.gov.ng/covid19/
